Before you submit
A five-point submission check.
- Read at least two recent titles from the press before submitting.
- Match the reading period — submissions outside it are usually deleted unread.
- Follow the file format exactly: one document, page numbers, no fancy layout.
- For nonfiction, most presses want a proposal, not a finished manuscript.
- Never pay a publisher to publish your book. Money flows to the author.
