1. Who we are
Library Agents ("we", "us", "our") is a literary membership platform operated in the United States. Contact: hello@libraryagents.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), author bio, and profile photo you provide.
- Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We never store full card numbers.
- Newsletter: email address collected with a double opt-in confirmation email.
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, device and browser information collected via cookies and analytics.
- Submissions: content you submit (news, bios, prompts) is stored to operate the service.
3. How we use your information
To operate the platform, process membership payments, send transactional and (with consent) marketing email, curate the community, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
Contract (delivering the service you paid for), consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies), legitimate interest (security, service improvement), and legal obligation.
5. Sharing
We share data only with processors necessary to operate the service (hosting, payments, email delivery, analytics), or when required by law. We do not sell personal data.
6. Your rights
EU/UK residents (GDPR) and California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of their personal data, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Contact privacy@libraryagents.com.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site, and (with your consent) analytics cookies. Manage your choice via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
8. Retention
We keep account data while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute obligations.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored with encryption at rest by our infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure — we work to reduce risk and notify affected users of any material incident.
10. Children
Library Agents is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or on-site notice.
